My Scroll of Psalm Religion 7 Third Quarter Project

Objective:
1.    To identify a prayer from the Book of Psalms that speaks about their recent experience.
2.    Recall a faith experience that gave a big impact on them as students; can either be an experience of thanksgiving, praise or of lamentations.
3.    To be creative in expressing their prayers or Psalms in a form of a scroll or scrap book page using different mediums of art.

Materials:
Parchment paper or self-made recycled paper
Any art/Coloring materials
Any Scrap book materials
Bible (Where to copy a Psalm)

Direction:
1.    Recall about your own personal faith experience that gave a big impact on you for the past seven months as a Marist student.
2.    Reflect about those experiences and identify whether those were sad or happy experiences. Identify your learning.
3.    Relate that learning experience to a Psalm from the Bible and choose the one that connects to your own faith experience and learning.
4.    Copy the Psalm in a single page and creatively finish it by composing a short explanation why you chose it and what experience can you relate to it; write your name/year/section and explanation in a clean piece of paper and paste it at the back of your “scroll’
5.    Submit it during the second week of January 2010.

Second Quarter Projects

Second Quarter Major project
Objective: To learn from the faith life-stories and experiences of ordinary persons.

1.    Find an ordinary person whom you think is a model of Christian faith.
2.    Design a questionnaire to interview this person and submit a project proposal to your teacher.
3.    Interview your chosen model of faith.
4.    Prepare a written report containing the following:
a.    Personal information about the life of your model of faith.
b.    A one-paragraph summary of the faith-life story of your chosen model of faith.
c.    A one-page typewritten reflection containing the most striking lesson learned from the life of your chosen model of faith.
5.    Submission: September 28-29, 2009
6.    This is an individual project.

Minor project: Ten Commandments

Details when to report the assigned topics will be discussed in the classroom.

Objective: Report to the class the following:

The class “was” divided by column. Each column/group is assigned to a particular commandment to prepare a motivational prelude related to the lesson. The group must be able to connect the motivational activity to the lesson proper. It can be in a form of a game, story or series of questions to be asked to the students.

There must be visual aid to accompany the lesson; it can be powerpoint presentation or use of cartolina or manila paper. The content of the assigned commandment must be emphasized.

1.    Meaning of the commandment

2.    Biblical foundation of the commandment

3.    Violations against the commandments being reported

Group distribution:

a.    First Commandment
b.    Second Commandment
c.    Third Commandment
d.    Fourth Commandment
e.    Sixth and Ninth Commandments

First Quarter Exam Pointers

Pointers ba ng exam hanap mo dito? Abangan! Di pa nga tayo tapos sa last lesson for the first quarter… Dito, pag-uusapan natin kung ano ang mga dapat ninyong pakakatandaan… Di ba lahat ng lesson ay dapat covered ng exam? Ok, kaya balikan at pag-aralan ang mga nakaraang topiko natin… OK???

First Quater Project for Year Seven

THEME: “Kristiyano, Pilipino, Maristian Ako, Tagapag-alaga ng Nilikha Mo” (A Waste Segregation Streamer)
TOPIC: Stewardship in Creation

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Each group is composed of 5 to 6 members. They should make an artistic banner containing a slogan. The slogan must depict the question, “Why segregate waste?”
MATERIALS: cheese cloth or “katsa” (20”x30”)
*Note: Let us conserve our resources. Each group is encouraged to use available materials. If you have to buy, get 3 colors of textile paint (Red, blue and yellow) at the most. Use your own creativity in mixing these primary and neutral colors yield other colors.

*Project will be done inside the classroom during the submission day, July 27. Or might just give you further announcement days before the submission.
Explain your work on a short bond paper using no more than 100 words, with the following format: arial-font, size 14, one-inch margin on all sides.
