Random Thoughts About Past Week's Experiences
While composing this entry, I am eating fresh durian fruit from Mindanao dala ng aking superior. Masarap! Super-sarap. Last Friday, I was suppose to bring some from Mindanao also but with my short stay, I unfortunately missed the plan. Though it was not the main reason why I left Marikina for Mindanao, I have a lot of things to be thankful.
With the meaningful experiences I had last week, it is indeed good to express them here sometimes. I own this good experiences. Of course, bad experiences, too. More pics as you…
First Marist School Quarter Exam
The first thing that made me stressful was the first quarter exam. I am handling four regular sections for first year and one year 6 section. Good thing that help me release my all-day stress is teaching afternoon shift students. Naiiba talaga sila. Having boys and girls in the same class would be more better than having all boys in a class just like the day high. Teaching in the evening would be really different for me even though I have 80 minutes straight sometimes. It’s not draining but an energy-saving moments with these students in the evening.
Since the first quarter exam was already finished, meaning, I got a lot of test papers to check! Thanks to Joey for helping me checking one section just to meet the deadline in submitting the requirements before the distribution of their report cards during the Parents-Teachers Conference. Seems I still got a good reason to be away during the weekend.
MSAL Opening
Ah, the most waited Sports league by the students of the Marist School. I was excited, too! In fact, I got a nice jersey from St. Bartholomew Class, my advisory class for two weeks before it was given to another teacher. Being with them is a joy for a young teacher like me. During the opening, I was one of the judges for the best jersey. It was last Thursday… and the next day?

Short Family Visit!
I left the house at 4 o’clock in the morning bound for Mindanao. It was full of excitement! Manong Boy brought me to the airport though I was just traveling light and alone. It was Friday and we were celebrating Ninoy’s Day. When I reached Gen. Santos City Airport, mukhang nanibago ako; mainit pa rin ang Gensan.
When I reached Koronadal City, I met my classmate and had a lunch together at Tiana’s Place along Alunan Avenue. It was not only a meeting by an unexpected “eyeball” with Sheng! A blogger/plurker whom I also met few months ago at East-Asia Royale Hotel in Gen. Santos City.
Of course, the visit I never missed was the family visit. I was very happy to see my 3-year old nephew. He is the first-born son of my younger sister. I was really excited to meet my family especially the kid. I thought he learned how to talk already but I am still little bit alarm of his delayed speech development. Anyway, basta naka-bisita ako sa kanila, masaya na ako. I only stayed for a sleepover before I went back to Gensan for the main reason of going down to Mindanao: for a meeting.

Temporary Professed Brothers’ Meeting
Ah, I really needed it. And I was happy to see the other young brothers again. We were gathered for bi-annual meeting held at the Marist Province Center. The whole day sharing of learning experiences, looking for solutions to different issues we are facing at the moment, was not enough. After supper, all the young Brothers went to Blugre. It is known to be operated by Jinky, the wife of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. We had a good time for laughter, getting together as real young brothers as we shared different experiences. Helping one another also gave meaning for us to be faithful to our chosen vocations in life.
By the way, thanks to Br. Anselmo Kim of Korea Sector for sending me a Korean incense. I’m using it now in my room, smells like chapel now, lolz! I really appreciate your generosity.

So much to share but too long to type! Hope to tell you more about the Itinerant’s experiences next time. Thanks for reading! That’s all for now!

What a busy week but what makes it meaningful is when you said, ” I have a lot of things to be thankful.” I wish you all the best in your endeavours and I will visit again.
