NDKC High School Soccer Team Joins Marist Jubilee Meet 2009

Jan 24th, 2009 by brVince | 10

“May panalo man o wala, sasali at maglalaro kami ng Soccer sa Koronadal City!” That was a good start of excitement for my team, the soccer varsity team of NDKC-IBEd. Last Thursday, a day right after the 3rd Periodical Exam of our students, went to Koronadal City for the opening of the Marist Jubilee Meet 2009 held at Notre Dame of Marbel University IBEd. The theme of the Marist Meet was, “Strive, Survive, Believe.” It is in line with the celebration of the 60th Jubilee of Marist Presence here in the Philippines. All the Marist schools here in the Philippines were expected; Notre Dame of Kidapawan College, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, Notre Dame of Marbel University, Notre Dame of Cotabato and Marist School of Marikina. Unfortunately, Marist School and Notre Dame of Jolo High School Kasulutan were not around for the said activity. See more pictures if you

I can say that my team was ready for the competition yet with the result, I can also say that we need more practice and besides, magagaling, matatangkad at “ma-utak din ang mga naging kalaban nila. At first, I was disappointed to see my team losing againts the team of NDDU; that was 5-1 whew! But the next game againts NDMU, we won by 1-0 and the rest, medyo natalo na kami. I believe naman na they exerted all their bests for the game kaya they deserved one party-size Ham and Cheese pizza from my allowance. Masaya na malungkot but in general, I was fulfilled that they were able to know more one another as a soccer team, not as mere school mates lang. After all the games, we gathered ourselves for short processing of our experiences at the Marist Jubilee Meet. Wow, they expressed themselves with conviction na they can make it for next week’s City Meet here in Kidapawan City; a new challenge again for them. I am sure that with the misunderstandings and even mga bangayan nila inside the soccer field, they were able to learn from one another.

Mikko Ardina, the team captain said, “It is challenging, something different.” Maybe he was really challenged also by his role and responsibilities especially that I’m not really good as their coach. Meron din akong mga pagkukulang to them. Somehow we were able to make up our own limitations sa soccer field. I’m not only thankful to Mikko, but also to Jay Marte. He is a smart and dependable guy. Di nga ako nagsisisi that I chose him to help Mikko; I appointed him to be Mikko’s assistant. Masasabi ko rin na, I had a good reflection of all our experiences during the game againts the different schools. The opponents were bigger in size compared to my team. I even overheard a comment from Cotabato’s team that they will win againts our team, which they did anyway.

I will not speak about the other events which we joined. Basta sa ngayon, I am happy knowing more my players as their coach; nagiging closer pa ang bonding namin… Masaya ang team! Nakikita naman, di ba?
