Just Counting the Days Before School Year Ends
True. I’m now counting the days before school year ends, it’s summer time, not school time. Final exam is fast approaching but scary signing of clearance must be surpassed by the students. Scary? Who gives the idea that scary? Me, LoL! I told my students to come to me individually with complete requirements before they get cleared. That’s all. I don’t want to “monsterize” them but something funny’s going on right now. Since some of them were not just listening since first grading period, not taking notes and just throwing their compilation of magazines, pretty sure, it would be difficult for them to be cleared. Payback time, LMAO! Two things that excite me at the moment…
First, I’m excited that the school year ends because it’s a break. Second, my superior is sending me to another place.
For 10 months of struggling how to teach right, make lesson plans, following my advisory class and, of course, facilitating learning of my students, I also need a break. I’m human and learning everyday. Simply like that. We had much good time yet, I can still remember how my students made me angry for not listening and were just showing indifference. Well, I can’t just directly blame them. I was lousy at that moment. I needed an inspiration and it was them who supposed to inspire me. Whew! It’s very good and nice to teach, I learned a lot from them. They always knew when I am angry, but I never threw anything on them just like my primary school teacher, that was the first time I saw a flying chalkboard eraser towards me, haha! My students know also how to please me when I’m angry but I was just careful since there are some of them who are really afraid of me, of my presence. I knew some of my girls who tried to hide a classroom issue, they fought with one another, they were quarreling over guy, yaiks!. I did fail some of them. Been busy with them, but it’s break time. Even just last week, I sensed something wrong with my advisory class. The group in-charge of the classroom’s cleanliness just did nothing. So as part of the discipline: extend their cleaning until next day, until the last day of signing their clearance… tough huh! I’m not that kind of a person who will just give discipline like giving extra work unless I believe they must learn from that experience. Well, it’s my first year of teaching and I’m still learning from life… Arrrrggg!!! I will really miss my class advisory! For sure, i will write about our class experience later, hehehe… Not now when we are still together, class!
Yes, I got a new tentative assignment! It’s not a crime if I will blog about it, right Brother? I’m just excited about being told to be in Palawan this summer… It’s not the summer capital of the Philippines, I’m not going to a beach for summer vacation, I’m not visiting the tourist spots like the famous underground river of Palawan, nor any other places for rest and recreation. My superior told me that I will be with the indigenous children in Palawan particularly in Ransang, Rizal. Who would like to go with me there? It is a famous place because of malaria outbreak. One of the Marist Brothers mission is in a mountainous sitio of Malutok where they teach basic subject to children, and also to some adults. The Brothers live with the indigenous people of the place. I am already trying to learn the place from the Brothers who went there, and from internet resources about the place. I’ve been to Jolo, Sulu and I have no reason be to afraid of getting Malaria. I’m ready to be in Palawan this coming summer.
For summer, there would be no electricity, no mobile network, and of course, no internet for two months. It a real escapade…! Contrary to what Barry said that he wants to be on a beach on a remote island by himself with an internet connection! LOL!

I will miss you, guys!
Teacher and Palawan map does bot belong to me. May nagmamay-ari nyan.
