GRP-Bangsamoro Agreement: Dividing the Nation
Maybe it’s not yet too late to talk about the so-called Bangsamoro Juridical Entity (BJE) together with all the concern people (not only the with Bangsamoros) of Mindanao, Sulu, and Palawan regions that Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) are trying to claim. (Image courtesy of thepinoy.net)
Tomorrow, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on Ancestral Domain is to be signed in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines Panel (GRP Panel) and separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front. This created confusion and anxiety to most of the people who live here in Cotabato Province. Some places here in Cotabato province were already caught in crossfires between the military people and armed men who wanted to takeover some parts of the area causing fear and displacement of people.
In my own opinion, this is a clear stupidity to give in to the demand of the separatists to “define a new state within a state.” According to Inquirer, the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity will have it’s own system of governance. It is a sad story of letting a one united nation be divided into a more confusing state. After reading the article of The Warrior Lawyer, I can concluded that if the signing of MOA is pursued, this will be another problem created that obviously divides the nation; I hope that it will not end into bloodshed as what The Warrior Lawyer is prophesying. What would be our flag looks like? Or, would there be another flag to be flown high in the skies of the Republic of the Philippines?

I fervently hope and pray that I will be proven wrong, and that no bloodshed would result from this mounting crisis. But already North Cotabato vice-governor Manny Pinol, on ANC television last night, has made what is in effect a call to arms to his constituents.
Keep up the good work, Bro. Vince. You can contribute much to continuing dialogue, tolerance and understanding among our Mindanawon brethren, of whatever religion or political conviction.

I could only hope that that a peaceful solution could be reached between the Philippine government and the MILF so that the tension could not escalate to war. This could very well serve as a lesson for all all of us. Hasty negotiations without public consultation could lead to more problems. Let us all pray that peace could finally win in Mindanao.
