Congratulations to the Graduates

Mar 23rd, 2008 by brVince | 9

To the graduates, congratulations! (May I include myself here) :) That was just last Easter Sunday. After a whole week of being away in the wilderness of Bukidnon, we hurriedly came back just to attend to this big celebration. Though this was my second chance to march, it was like my first time again; because I wasn’t around during the practices: tatanga-tanga. But, I am happy, still because I just finished my second degree. And yet, that’s not the most important. It’s on how would I be in service through the degree I took up.

The Baccalaureate Mass was celebrated in the morning which was attended by the graduates and parents and followed by the graduation rite in the afternoon. Basta masaya, di ma-express, hehehe.

Me, with Brother DamianWe were fortunate also to be with Br. Joseph Damian Teston, FMS. His religious name is Brother Humbert Damian, FMS; galing ano?He was one of the first four Marist Brothers who arrived here in the Philippines upon the invitation of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, and started schools. They took over the first school from the Oblates in Cotabato in 1948. He taught in Notre Dame of Cotabato, Notre Dame of Marbel, Notre Dame of Lagao. He was also the Director of those schools. He became the Regional Superior from 1964 to 1965. And now that is 87 years old, I was shocked this morning upon learning that he still drives their car in Miami! Wow, heheheeh, di kaya s’ya nakakatulog while driving? He still serve in the Archdiocese of Miami this time. Me as a young Brother admires him for the zeal and endurance in life. He reached this moment happy and contented in life. Sana ako rin, pero I might not want to reach that age. Pag-dito sa Pilipinas, mahirap na, hehehe…

By the way, sa graduation rite that happened, I may be the most unfortunate one since I have one only photo taken; di pa sa akin galing ito. Hanapin nyo na lang ako rito:
