Responsibility
Our Constitution and Statutes says about Manual Work. This is part of life to live; we work to eat, we eat and work. But this is not only what I mean here. Love of work is one of the spirituality I’m trying to live as a Religious Brother.
We just finished our council meeting and I was given the task to look after the manual work to be done every Friday. Usually, the task to be the leader is given to the senior ones, but since they are on their preparation to go home to their respective countries, it should be turned over to the juniors.
I’ve been thinking how it will be implemented when it’s my turn. But the work is not for me only but for others to develop their love of work. The usual houseworks and even around the house should be done with collaboration. Collaboration is one of the beautiful words here. Nobody will be forced and nobody will complain about work. The attitude in working is more emphasized, not only on the quality… for we are to love our work. How much more if it is a work for others?
How we do our little work reflects ourselves how we work in our future ministries, in our future contribution to our community, in the school and in the society.
I accepted the task to look after the work, therefore, I should be glad to accept it, for it is a way of living our own spirituality: Love of Work.
