My Guardian Angel

“I pray that my Guardian Angel be with me today.”

Today is the feast day of the Angels celebrated by the Church. Jesus said in the Gospel today that unless we become like children, we will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. “See that you never despise any of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven.” 

Yet it is sad that more adults dont’ believe in Angels anymore, rather believe that Angels are for little kids only. For me, it is the attitude of becoming  childlike again, that my guardian Angel is with me. Truly, Jesus affirms that their presence is always with the Father. They always look after us, for we are children of the Father.

O Angel of God, my Guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here
Ever this day be at my side,
To light, to guard, to rule and guide.
